Nominations for the 2022 WA Volunteer Service Awards are now open.
The awards recognise WA volunteers who have provided 25 years or more of voluntary service to a single organisation.
The awards are another fantastic opportunity to highlight the incredible work and efforts of our long serving bushfire volunteers across Western Australia.
I have no doubt there are many individuals across our 550+ brigades who have made an exemplary voluntary contribution and who through their volunteering has made a significant impact on their brigade and in their community.
These awards are a great way of shining a light on these ‘unsung heroes’ and provide a great platform for your brigade and local community to celebrate their service and impact.
Being a Bushie and what comes with it is something to be proud of. Bush Fire Brigades are entrenched in the fabric and history of Western Australia over the course of many decades, and I know this is a great source of pride for many of our brigades and communities. Each and every one of you should be incredibly proud of who you are and the impact you have.
I encourage you to take the time to nominate a fellow Bushie who you think is worthy of being recognised.
Nominations will close on Monday February 28, 2022.
The Awards will be presented during National Volunteer Week, May 16-22, 2022.
Approved recipients receive a commemorative badge for either 25 or 50 years plus of service, in addition to a personalised certificate of recognition.
