- Volunteer Centre of Western Australia receives $244,000 Lotterywest grant
Volunteering Minister Mick Murray has congratulated the Volunteer Centre of Western Australia on securing a $244,000 Lotterywest grant.
The grant will enable the Volunteer Centre of Western Australia to fund a range of Volunteer Community Grants, as well as the WA Volunteer of the Year Awards, which will be held on May 22, 2019.
The State Government is committed to providing recognition to individual volunteers for their selfless contributions to their communities, making sure they know their efforts do not go unnoticed.
Volunteering provides substantial community and economic benefits to WA. For every dollar invested in volunteering, $4.50 in benefits are delivered to the community.
National Volunteer Week will be held from May 20-26, 2019. A range of activities will be held to celebrate the value of volunteers in the community and encourage more people to become volunteers.
