The following Question Without Notice was asked by the Hon Martin Aldridge and answered in the Upper House today by the Hon Stephen Dawson MLC representing the Emergency Services Minister, Hon Fran Logan MLA.
Hon Martin Aldridge to the minister representing the Minister for Emergency Services; Corrective Services:
I refer to Legislative Council question without notice No. 759, asked by me on 13 March 2018 in relation to the former Geraldton Fire Station site, and I ask:
(a) does the Department of Fire and Emergency Services continue to have control of the site and, if no, who does;
(b) have the Detailed Site Investigations (DSI) been undertaken and, if so, please table the report;
(c) has a plan been established to remediate any contamination at the site and when will this occur; and
(d) what is the timeline in which the Geraldton Mens Shed can be provided permanent and ongoing access?
Hon Stephen Dawson replied:
(d) The City of Greater Geraldton will consider acceptance of the Management Order for the site at its Council meeting scheduled for 26 February 2019.
