Last week, Bushfire Volunteers visited the Roelands-Olive Hill Combined Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade at their usual Wednesday night training session to check in on the local members.
A basic run-through of firefighting drills was conducted, including demonstrations of blacking out, how to check your equipment and truck is fit for purpose, proper use of the hose, and how to find and correctly open a hydrant from the side of the road.
After the training formalities, a small amount of food/beverages were enjoyed by the attendees, reinforcing how volunteer brigades are so heavily reliant on the community spirit of their team.
Bushfire Volunteers would like to formally thank the Roelands-Olive Hill Combined Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade for inviting us to come along to their training session, and remind other members that if you’d like a representative to come and visit your brigade we’re only a quick phone call or email away!
