“What do Firefighters do on a soggy Saturday morning” asks the cheeky Facebook post from the team at Bedfordale Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade.
Just like the amazing volunteers at Bakers Hill Volunteer Bush Fire Brigade who also shared some rainy training photos on Facebook, the Bedfordale crew and thousands of others around WA were out and about training, sharing and preparing for whatever may come in the months and years ahead.
And thank goodness for them. As this Fact Sheet shows, many, many Western Australian communities owe an awful lot of gratitude to the tens of thousands of women and men who not only leave their families to protect the lives and property of others in need, but spend hundreds of hours a year working behind the scenes to be ready.
Thank you to all who give so much to others in times of crisis and well done to the teams at Bedfordale and Bakers Hill for acknowledging some of the work that goes in to providing the invaluable community service you do.
