Bushfire Volunteers President Dave Gossage was interviewed on ABC Perth radio this morning regarding the tragic events in NSW and Prime Minister Scott Morrison’s family vacation.
Listen to him explain the risks Australia’s 250,000+ fire volunteers willingly confront to protect the rest of the community from the perspective of someone who has spent 40 years on the frontline as a volunteer.
When asked about the public criticisms being made of Prime Minister Scott Morrison, Mr Gossage gives a very clear message to a group of former well-paid staff of various fire bureaucracies who are lobbying for more paid firefighters under the guise of climate change: “Hang your heads in shame!”
