In the week where we marked the one year anniversary of the Wooroloo bushfire, volunteer and career fire fighters were kept busy with a number of fires around the state including a challenging fire in Martin.
Crews from Bush Fire Brigades, Volunteer Fire and Emergency Services, Volunteer and Career Fire and Rescue Service and Parks and Wildlife, supported by aerial fire fighting resources and earthmoving machinery, worked cohesively to resolve this incident. The State Emergency Service provided various support services including an excellent job in keeping crews fed.
Bushfire Volunteers staff were grateful for the opportunity to tour the fire ground with Steve Lake of the Kalamunda VBFB and the chance to meet some of our volunteers and talk about the fire and their experience.
